Registration Window

You will be able to register your personal information beginning Monday, December 1, 2014 at 7:00 AM, MST through Friday, January 23, 2015 at 5:00 PM, MST.

Entry Window

You will be able to add your entries to the system beginning Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at 3:00 PM, MST through Friday, January 23, 2015 at 5:00 PM, MST. Entries will be accepted at our shipping and drop-off locations during this window as well.

Entry Fees

$6.00 (USD) per entry.

Entry Limit

There is a limit of five hundred and fifty one (551) entries for this competition.

Per Entrant Limits

Each entrant is limited to one (1) entry per sub-category .

Bottle Acceptance Rules

Each entry will consist of a minimum of two 12, 22 or 24 ounce capped or corked bottles that are void of all identifying information, including labels and embossing. Printed caps are allowed, but must be blacked out completely.

12oz brown glass bottles are preferred; however, green and clear glass will be accepted. Swing top bottles and corked bottles will also be accepted.

Bottles will not be returned to contest entrants.

Completed entry forms and recipe sheets must be submitted with all entries, and can be printed directly from this website. Entry forms should be attached to bottles with a rubber band only; glue and/or tape are unacceptable.

Please fill out the entry forms completely. Be meticulous about noting any special ingredients that must be specified per the 2008 BJCP Style Guidelines. Failure to note such ingredients may impact the judges' scoring of your entry.

Brewers are not limited to one entry in each category but may only enter each subcategory once.

Packing and Shipping

Carefully pack your entries in a sturdy box. Line the inside of your carton with a plastic trash bag. Partition and pack each bottle with adequate packaging material. Please do not over pack!

Write clearly: "Fragile. This Side Up." on the package. Please refrain from using "messy" packaging materials such a Styrofoam "peanuts" or pellets; please use packaging material such as bubble wrap.

Enclose each of your bottle labels in a small zip-top bag before attaching to their respective bottles. This way it makes it possible for the organizer to identify specifically which entry has broken if there is damage during shipment.

Every reasonable effort will be made to contact entrants whose bottles have broken to make arrangements for sending replacement bottles.

If you live in the United States, please note that it is illegal to ship your entries via the United States Postal Service (USPS). Private shipping companies have the right to refuse your shipment if they are informed that the package contains glass and/or alcoholic beverages. Be aware that entries mailed internationally are often required by customs to have proper documentation. These entries might be opened and/or returned to the shipper by customs' officials at their discretion. It is solely the entrant's responsibility to follow all applicable laws and regulations.

BOS Show medal for beer will be awarded.

PRO-AM will be selected by the brewers and may not be the BOS winner



Gold, Silver and Bronze medals, designed just for this event, will be available for award in each category. Additionally, a best in show award for beer award will be given. All awards will be presented at the Fest on Feb 20 along with scoresheets. If you are not present, they will be mailed to you.

Pikes Peak Brewery, Red Legs Brewery and Rock Bottom (Colorado Springs) will brew up a GABF Pro-Am for the lucky brewers this year!

Homebrew/Awards Fest:

This is the fun part! Homebrew entrants, judges and stewards get into the festival for free! It’s at 6:00PM on Feb 20 at the Peterson Club. $15 for Peterson Club members, $20 for all others. We are asking that all entrants bring some of their brew to share with other brewers and festival attendees. Those who bring to share get a guest in for free! Recommend you bring at least 24, 12oz bottles, a couple growlers or the keg equivalent to share on Feb 20, 2014. Ideally, it would be some of the beer you entered in the competition. You’ll be serving next to some of our local micros. All brewers will be responsible for dispensing their beer to festival guests. Size of pour will be no more than 2 oz. The Peterson Club will provide booth space for each entrant to serve their beer – call the Club to let them know that you need booth space.
